PsBattle: This is a Brown-throated three-toed sloth.
Critically endangered, the pygmy three-toed sloth was only recognized as a distinct species in 2001 and is only found on one tiny 4.2 square km island off the coast of Panama. Like other sloths, it has a symbiotic relationship with algae, which discolors the fur and serves as camouflage.
Today I learnt about the three-toed pygmy sloth. Half the size as a regular sloth but double the cuteness.

The brown-throated three-toed sloth, aka 'Ai' is native to S.America. Its facial colors give the sense of a 'permanent smile'. It spends most of its time hanging from trees when awake,asleep or eating the foliage. It can rotate its head 270^ and depends on touch and smell.

The common name for two-toed sloths is slightly misleading: they have two toes on their forelimbs, but three toes on their hindlimbs!
