OCD support: why does it feel so terrifying?
this is how ridiculous our thoughts are, we always think that when we see another OCD case, but we think ours is different, no, it’s also ridiculous

There is such a stigma surrounding #ocd and mental illness in general. Either one of the good pantries shown here could belong to someone with OCD. STOP assuming it's an organizational and cleaning disorder.

On a post where I described dissociating for long periods of time in the bathroom due to my OCD, I got this comment. The combination of erasure and sexualizing me unnecessarily really upsets me. Has anyone else had this issue?
Black or white thinking effects my ocd tremendously. Ocd doesn't like us to be "in the gray", ocd wants certainty. Remember, it's ok to accept that things are gray.

A common ocd myth is that you have ocd because you had a bad childhood. I know from personal experience...this statement is totally untrue. my childhood was amazing and like a fairy tale...but I still have ocd. It is possible, however to have a life event trigger ocd, but it does not "create" ocd
